About Us
Melbourne Montessori College (MMC) is an independent, co-educational school that welcomes children aged from 18 months (walking) to 18 years. Our programs include Parent and Toddler playgroups, an Early Learning Program, a Junior School and a Senior School.
Our Senior School also offers the globally recognised International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for students who are in Years 11 and 12.
We have two main campuses — one in Caulfield and one in Brighton. Each campus has age-appropriate outdoor spaces with interesting play equipment and features and our classrooms are equipped with specially-designed Montessori materials.
Play and learning environments are carefully prepared for each young person’s developmental level, allowing them to take responsibility for their own education. As a result, our students develop a life-long passion and curiosity for learning.
All classes at MMC are multi-age, so each child can learn from the people around them and develop at their own pace, both socially and intellectually.
In the Junior School, children usually stay with the same teacher for three years, fostering strong teacher-student connections and ensuring teachers develop a deep understanding of each student’s personality, strengths and interests.
