IB Mission Statement
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organisation works with schools, governments and international organisations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

IB: The Value of an IB education from a parent and educator perspective
As both an IB parent and the Assistant Dean of Admission at Stanford University, Debra Von Bargen has extensive experience working with IB graduates. When her son began the IB Diploma Programme, she witnessed him achieve things he never thought possible. In her professional role, she is always excited to see how students embrace the IB, knowing that IB graduates tend to excel in their first year at university with impressive success rates.
