Camp with our Cycle 5 students has been one of a bunch of amazing events at the busy Brighton campus. We rode on a rail trail for three days and had an eventful start to the adventure when the rain and hail arrived! Thankfully, the weather changed and became a little friendlier with some mild, sunny days.

Students and teachers really enjoyed the challenge of the trail and they also enjoyed each other’s company. After three-days on bikes we were pretty excited to swap two wheels for the water. Students and staff all enjoyed learning to navigate sea kayaks before it was time to head back to Brighton.

Aside from the adventures of camp, the Brighton Campus also recently enjoyed Grandparents Day and Father’s Day and who can forget the fun of Book Week? We have also enjoyed some interesting language activities and our Cycle 6 students have put in a great effort with those.

Finally, we were thrilled to hold our Open Day at Brighton Campus at the weekend. It was a very successful event with a great turnout and plenty of interest from some potential new MMC families!

The holidays are over and during the last few weeks students have gradually settled into the rhythm and routine of school. Happy to be reunited with friends and teachers, they are all looking forward to what Term 3 has to offer.

In Cycle 3, students are working hard to prepare for the annual Night of the Notables. We can’t wait to see what famous and historic characters our young people re-create.

BYOC, the Junior School production is coming together and students are also making the most of the brighter weather and the range of play options available at lunchtime, from putting up tarps to playing soccer and basketball.

Cycle 4 and 5 students have now settled into their new occupations and the busy bike group has already repaired some bikes and have enjoyed rides to Allnutt Park.

The Café group is gearing up to launch again and have been exploring exactly what it means to run a sustainable café. Horticulture have planted seeds, cleaned up areas around the back of the school and have fixed up the compost system. Robotics projects are also coming along nicely with projects being built including a guitar, more remote-control cars and some interesting boxes being designed in Fusion 360.

Our senior students are working hard to stay on top of all their work and there has been a definite increased focus as they push towards the end of the year.
