Montessorian Scholarships
Montessorian Scholarships are partial-fee means tested scholarships awarded to a student (currently at MMC or an external perspective).
Applicants must demonstrate sound academic ability and embody the Montessori values of respect of self and others, acceptance of the uniqueness and dignity of the individual, kindness, peacefulness, compassion, empathy, honour, individual responsibility, independence, and courage to speak from the heart. Montessorian Scholarships are awarded, utilising financial-needs based criteria, to provide opportunities for those who would otherwise be unable to access an independent Montessori education.
These are partial fee scholarships. The value of scholarships are at the discretion of the MMC Board and Principal.
Where scholarships are offered for multiple years, families will be asked to confirm on-going financial need ahead of the scholarship being renewed.
Montessorian Scholarships are open to applicants who are:
- current MMC students or external prospective students
- citizens or permanent residents of Australia at the time of application
- either a Year 5 or Year 6 student in 2025 (scholarship to be awarded the year the student enters Year 7) or a Year 9 or Year 10 student in 2025 (scholarship to awarded the year the student commences Year 11)
- able to demonstrate, through supporting documentation, evidence of financial need, and a positive contribution and commitment to MMC and its values.
- Applicants must complete and submit the MMC Scholarship Application Form before the closing date.
- Each student requires an individual application, including families applying for multiple students.
- The applicant’s family must show intent to keep the child/ren enrolled at Melbourne Montessori College.
- Completed applications to be sent to the MMC School Registrar (enrolments@mmc.vic.edu.au).
- Shortlisted applicants will attend an interview with the MMC Principal. An invitation to attend this interview does not indicate your application has been successful.
- Applications are assessed and all applicants will be notified of the outcome.

Monday 28 April: MMC Scholarship applications open
Friday 11 July: MMC Scholarship applications close, midnight
Monday 14 July – Friday 25 July: MMCSF Application Assessment Committee assess application for MMC Scholarship interviews
Monday 28 July – 15 August: MMC Scholarship interviews and trials
12 September: Notification of outcome to all MMC Scholarship applicants (successful/unsuccessful)
25 September: Scholarship acceptance deadline
26 September: Second round offers to MMC applicants close
