We’re 5-star School!

Earlier this year, the search began to name Australia’s Best 5-Star Schools – the schools that are setting high standards in teaching and innovation, supporting student wellbeing, and fostering diversity and adaptability in the world of education today.

Melbourne Montessori College is thrilled that our school has been selected as one of Australia’s BEST 5-Star Schools of 2025.

The inaugural list has been compiled by The Educator – organisers of the prestigious annual Australian Education Awards that showcase the country’s best performing schools and teachers.

The Educator says the 5-Star Best Schools showcase ‘schools excelling in extracurricular programs, technology integration, student support services and with a focus on diversity, inclusion and holistic education.’

We are thrilled to be one of the first schools in the country to earn this amazing recognition.

“Being named a 5-Star Best School of 2025 is a huge honour that has been earned by our hard-working and creative students, our dedicated teachers, our supportive MMC families and the broader school community,” says MMC Principal, Daniel Thomas.

To be recognised in this way is no small feat. There are many schools across Australia that are doing great things in education. Every day in countless classrooms, there are teachers who are nurturing, inspiring and encouraging young minds to learn, grow and be curious.

“For MMC to earn a place as a Best 5-Star School is an impressive but well-deserved achievement. It is the sum of all our efforts and another indicator of the strength and specialness of our school.”

The 5-Star Best School of 2025 award recognised a broad range of Melbourne Montessori College’s programs and opportunities, such as our extracurricular program that includes clubs ranging from Dungeons & Dragons to movies and chess.

Our efforts to encourage leadership in our students is also one of MMC’s strengths with leadership intentionally fostered from Cycle 1 through to Year 12.

Our school’s rich cultural immersion experiences that encourage global citizenship, our firm focus on student safety and wellbeing and our investment in the kinds of technologies that enhance learning, creativity and student innovation are also part of our 5-Star rating.
