When she isn’t teaching Art and English, Laura Bonne might be found samba dancing, painting and drawing, or enjoying a coffee with friends and family.

How long have you been at MMS? Since February 2024
Where were you beforehand? Beaumaris Secondary College
What do you love about working at MMC?
I love the small community, lovely staff and students.
What inspires you as a Montessori educator/team member?
Supporting students to become more independent with various opportunities for problem-solving. I also love inspiring students to exceed their expectations and working side-by-side with students to help them achieve their personal best.
What is your most memorable teaching moment (or moment working in a school)?
Being on a Reef and Rainforest trip in Cairns. Snorkelling with the students was a highlight.
What’s your most memorable moment as a school student?
Being in an VCE Studio Art class with my friends in Year 12 and having a blast!
What are five interesting things about you that we may not know?
- I’ve travelled to Egypt.
- I enjoy dance classes in my free time, particularly Reggaeton, Samba and Bachata.
- My favourite food is Thai red curry with prawns and coconut rice.
- I’ve done 10 dance performances in various styles including Belly Dancing, Brazilian Samba and Reggaeton.
- I enjoy drawing portraits of my favourite singers in graphite pencil.
What does your weekend look like?
I hang out with friends and family, paint and draw. I also enjoy walks along the beach and going out for coffee.
